Local public school, PS8 will hold their annual auction benefit on March 28, 2014. Items for bidding include VIP tickets to Katy Perry, John Legend, One Direction, or a guaranteed Preschool slot. There are over 100 items and more being added.
Kirkland Academy is an independent Mind Brain Education school scheduled to open in Dumbo for the fall of 2015. They are holding an information session to present The Kirkman Academy’s vision, philosophy and plans to open a neighborhood school.

The DUMBO Einsteins alternative Pre K classes start January 7th at Abundant Learning (68 Jay Street). They have enrichment classes for students ages late 2’s-late 5’s. Dumbo Brooklyn based Amplify is developing groundbreaking digital curriculum for math, ELA and science. They are looking for students to provide feedback as part of the product development process.

There is a Fall Family Festival for PS8, the local elementary school on Saturday, October 5, 2013, 3-5:30pm. Some activities will include pony rides, bouncy castle, face painting, trackless train, pirate ship ride, DJ Kai, Sand art, cookie decorating, and food/treats.
