BKC is offering their 5 Dollar Friday series, a collection of accessible, no-frills photography classes each Friday for only $5. They offer topics like Capturing Motion (capture the motions of Dumbo) and Dealing With Low Light (so you can take the low light photos at Superfine), these classes are a bargain. Five Dollar Friday classes begin at 4:30 and end at 6:00 pm.

For those more serious about learning digital photography, BKC offers a comprehensive photo education program.

BKC is a photo, video and creative education center located in Dumbo, Brooklyn. They have been offering photography related seminars since 2011 at the Rabbithole Studios on Washington Street.

On Thursday, March 6, 2014, Curator Frankie Velez and The Walk Way Director, Craig Anthony Miller, will produce the second installment of “60 • The Collective”. For the second time together, they invited 60 of today’s talented artists to create one of a kind works on a 12″ x 12″ format. Artists range from fine, contemporary, street art, graffitti, and photography.

Kunsthalle Galapagos presents The Invitational, a multidisciplinary group exhibition that presents over 50 artists and spans two galleries in Dumbo Brooklyn. Curated collaboratively by its 5 members Julie McKim, Erik Hougen, Gracie Kazer, Wyatt Nash and Daniel Kingery, it is an investigation into the art production encountered over the past year. In the spirit of the Kunsthalle’s large inaugural group show, The Invitational highlights their artist-centric mission. The exhibition showcases an array of disciplines and mediums, including performances and site-specific installations. Artists included are both new to the Kunsthalle and those who have exhibited in the past. Opening night performance by Tif Robinette. After party and artist DJs after 9pm.

The Invitational opens on Thursday, March 6, 2014 with dual opening parties: 6-9pm @ 111 Front Street, #212 / 9pm-late @ 16 Main Street

TRUNK is hosting a Valentine’s Day event featuring artist Stefan Killen. On the opening night on February 6, 2014 at TRUNK, Stefan will be taking couples’ portraits with his pinhole camera. Bring your sweetheart or a friend or a child and get a moody and quirky portrait taken by Stefan.
