According to Accuweather and Google Public Alerts, there is a blizzard warning in effect from 6am Friday (Feb 8, 2013) to 1 pm EST Saturday (Feb 9, 2013). Accumulations of 10-14 inches of snow with localized higher amounts within developing snow bands.

A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to Whiteout conditions, making travel extremely dangerous. If you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle.

Check MTA.info for any transit delays and be careful as many streets under the snow may be icy. NYC schools are expected to open as scheduled. Be ready for the storm with your emergency kit.

Alternate Side Parking Regulations will be suspended citywide, Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, to facilitate storm preparation. Payment at parking meters will remain in effect throughout the City (source).
