  • Did anyone else attend the Block Party on Sat? I went and was interested in checking out all the tables but the music drove me away. It was not only awful but WAY too loud. The organizers of this event clearly don’t understand the difference bewteen a fun family day with music and activities from a rock concert. It was ridiculous. If I’d paid for one of those tables I’d be pretty ticked off.

  • Eh, there are enough family friendly events in the area (like the last block party) and there’s no way I’m going to stop by those. Companies spending money on those tables are missing out on all my (single, childless) disposable income. Perhaps this party was targeting a different demographic?

  • I showed up and thought I was at an elementary school assembly. Bunch of lame parents, brats and some whiny kid band on the stage.

At least there wasn’t a $10 sunglasses booth thats at every nyc street fair.

  • i went to the last one, not realizing that block party means kids playing blocks. no reason for me to go back any time soon, unless ive got a kid walking around somewhere that i havent met yet

  • A Block Party doesn’t have to be a family/kid oriented event. Now I know not to go to that one (no offense intended towards the families and kids that enjoyed it).

I’d produce something cooler and funkier myself. And where the hell was the beer tent?! I didn’t see one.

  • I have kids and wouldn’t be caught dead at that loud, obnoxious, uninspired event. Can’t our local businesses do better?
