Help: 25 Washington Tenants Looking for Office Leases

25 Washington Street

It’s been known that the Two Trees’ building at 25 Washington Street is being converted to condos, which has/will displace the 100+ small businesses that are leasing space there. Lease holders were notified in October that their leases are expiring on November 30 and Two Trees will commence demolition December 1st and convert the building into residential apartments. According to a Curbed post, there is an application on file “for a two-story extension to the building (with “accessory cabana spaces” on the roof) in 2007. It was approved back then, but the DOB issued a permit for the job only this past February. The architect on the application is Jared Della Valle of the firm Della Valle + Bernheimer.”

Many of the businesses have moved out of the building, including a large tenant, Securitas, who moved to downtown Brooklyn, or to other office space in the neighborhood. Two Trees have offered offices at 55 Washington Street, but according to a few who have emailed us, they are looking for specific requirements (please contact TT for details no longer have any vacancies (according to a few who emailed us).) A few are still scrambling to find office space and need help from the community to find adequate space. There are offices located in 68 Jay Street, 10 Jay Street, 20 Jay Street, 155 Water Street (“Greendesk”), but some need enclosed spaces (not open cubicles). If you are a landlord or know of a location for small businesses, please help them by emailing us a contact asap or post a comment below. We hate to see good businesses leaving the area.

After the jump, we’ve also posted an ad from Craigslist for an office share at 68 Jay Street if anyone is looking.

About us and our space:

We are a small architectural design firm, located in a beautiful office on the fourth floor of a newly renovated building filled with artists, small businesses and entrepreneurs. There’s a coffee kiosk downstairs and a bar/restaurant in the building, perfect for your morning latte or your after work drink! There are three of us and we share the space with a few like minded entrepreneurs. Some of our friends have recently moved to California, which is why there’s an opening in our beautiful loft. The space itself is large and loft-like, with 12 foot vaulted brick ceilings and hardwood floors. Lots of space per person, and no cubicles. In contrast to a stuffy corporate office, or a stifling rent-a-desk factory, you’ll find our space relaxed, friendly and informal, and great to work in!

Who we’re looking for:

This is an ideal situation for creative individuals, especially web designers, programmers, freelancers, architects, graphic designers, interior designers, or just nice entrepreneurially minded people looking for an office share. This is a quiet relaxed space most of the time. Punctuality when paying rent (due on the first of each month) is essential, as is a professional attitude. Access to the space is 24/7 with a security code for after hours building access. We can also rotate or move (within reason) the desks to suit your needs or the size of your group.

Each individual desk space includes:

1 large L-shaped modern desk (6’x6′);
1 comfortable swivel office chair (leather);
1 lockable filing cabinet;
Cleaning service;
High speed wireless internet service;
Use of semi-private meeting area with group table,
water cooler and dry erase board;
Shared bathroom on floor.
