The foundation for the building at the Dock Street Dumbo project (aka 60 Water Street) is being poured, two floors below ground level. The prior buildings in this location were demolished in July 2012 to prepare for this new 18 story development. There will be 400 rental units (80 of which will be affordable units for qualitified individuals (approximately $500-$850 per month for studios, 1, and 2 bedrooms, depending on income, family size, and apartment size).

Affordable Housing & Financial Preparedness Info Session

Pratt Area Community Council and Two Trees Management Co. will be holding an information session on affordable rental opportunities at the Dock Street Dumbo building that is being built on Dock and Front Streets in Dumbo/Fulton Ferry Landing Brooklyn. The info session will take place at Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church (Fort Greene), 85 South Oxford Street, Brooklyn, NY, 11217. [Enter on Lafayette Ave]

Rents for the affordable units at Dock Street will be between approximately $500-$850 per month for studios, 1, and 2 bedrooms, depending on income, family size, and apartment size. The estimated maximum incomes are $41,500 for a 4-person family, $37,350 for 3-persons, $33,200 for 2-persons, and $29,050 for 1 (all subject to change).

Rental applications will not be available at the presentation (they will be available sometime in 2014). Back in 2008 plan called for 400 rental units, 80 of which will be affordable.

56 Water Street demolition

56 Water Street (above) and the former garage at 21 Front Street have been demolished to prepare for the 18 story mixed use development known as Dock Street Dumbo. Brownstoner has been following the site demo closely. According to the notice posted on the construction site, the name of the project is “60 Water Street” and work on the project is scheduled to be completed by Decemober 2014.
