Another year here and gone, another great year for Dumbo’s Art festival. Sunday’s event welcomed tens of thousands of visitors to the neighborhood, and even a few wedding parties that probably didn’t get the memo. There was of course an eclectic mix of paintings, visual media, dance, sculpture, and exhibits both small and large. Some larger installations were found inside the former Bubby’s restaurant space on Main Street and St. Anne’s Warehouse on Jay Street. Sunday’s late September heat was the perfect backdrop for an ever changing neighborhood that promises to continue its tradition of supporting artists from all walks of life. Here’s to 2015!

They are located at 66 Water Street in the former Water Street Cafe location. The food is fresh, innovative and relevant. The Bridges has 14 flat screen TV’s installed in a non-intrusive way throughout the bar and dining area.

Located in a cozy section towards the back of the restaurant, you will find two new pool tables, which are complimentary for guests. The Bridges is redesigned to be a place for anyone interested in having a relaxed dinner or drinks while taking in sporting events from around the world.

They have daily food deals, so stop in today and enjoy Dumbo’s newest gastro-pub.

Now through August 15th, Dumbo’s stylish and eclectic furniture and home accessory store Journey is having a sale on all handmade furniture from India. If you are not familiar the space, Journey was originally started in Park Slope in 1995 by husband and wife team Pam and Bill Rohl. Inspired by independent furniture stores that dotted Soho in the late 80’s and early 90’s Journey has occupied a beautiful location at 72 Front Street since 2010. They feature local artists such as Wynne Noble, Tara Dixon, Jaimie Walker, and Gail Garcia just to name a few. The store’s mission is to inspire their customers to “layer” their design and not stick to just one style. J0urney is always evolving and features a mix of vintage, contemporary and industrial furniture, plus accessories from Brooklyn to India and many places in between. Stop in today and see just how eclectic and exciting the space is.
