Change the Color of One World Trade’s Spire With Bill Nye the Science Guy Next Week

The National Park Service is celebrating its 100th birthday next week with a blowout at Brooklyn Bridge Park, to be hosted by Centennial Ambassador Bill Nye the Science Guy and include an activity where attendees can change the color of One World Trade Center’s spire.

The centennial event will take place from 1:30 to 10 p.m. on Monday, August 22, at Brooklyn Bridge Park. The day-long celebration will include an ice cream social hosted by the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory, music performances by the bands Ramblin’ Dan and Atlas Genius as well as a variety of family-friendly activities including sand-art, corn hole and temporary tattoos.

The interactive spire-color-changing experience will take place from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will be accompanied by a DJ set by Questlove.
