Open Call for Submissions to Paint a Historic Front Street Wall

How would you reimagine the nearly two-century-old side wall of Gran Electrica?

Artbridge is looking for an artist with a vision that will do justice to the canvas of this 181-year-old structure.

The historic, landmarked wall, located at the side of 5 Front Street, is currently blank — but not for long.

Proposals for the open call are due on November 11, and should capture the “quirky, contemporary climate of Dumbo” while simultaneously referencing the neighborhood’s history. Submissions should include a narrative explaining the design’s concept, as well as images of former public works and a list of required materials.

Artists must either live or work in New York, and there should not be any text in designs.

For full details on submitting, see Artbridge’s website.
