A new Mediterranean restaurant, Dish Dumbo will be ‘soft opening’ next week (Tuesday, October 8, 2013). They had a private tasting last night. Popular dishes included:
Appetizers:
- Smoked eggplant dip with chips
- Crispy phyllo rolls – stuffed with spinach and/or cheese
- Lamb meatballs – served wtih grilled bread in a spicy tomato sauce topped with feta cheese
- Grilled prawns – served with roasted garlic, lemon, connellini bean
- Portugese calamari – crispy fried calamari tossed with soujouk sauces and cherry peppers
- Baby octopus – grilled octopus served with artichoke puree and chickpea ragu
- Johnny blue mussels – steamed mussels with shallots, thyme and vermouth
- Warm burrata cheese – served with sliced figs and a balsamic fig glaze
Entrees:
- Braised lamb shank – served with mascarpone, dill and feta cheese polenta topped with a pistachio gremolata
- Grilled ribeye – 28 day aged 16oz ribeye served with smashed potatoes tossed with roasted garlic, kalamata olives, sumac and creme fraiche
- Roasted chicken – deboned half chicken served with a chickpea ragu
- Grilled branzino – served with a currant almond couscous
- Grilled swordfish – served with green olives, preserved lemon relish and saffron rice
The final menu is coming soon, but the above are examples of the kinds of dishes that will be served. Appetizers range between $6-14 and entrees range in the $24-35 (subject to change).
