Event: The LAMP Gala at Galapagos

The LAMP (Learning About Multimedia Project) is celebrating their 5th year anniversary by hosting a gala at Galapagos on September 24. The evening celebrates The LAMP’s fifth anniversary of bringing media and digital literacy to New York City youth, parents and educators, reaching over 1,400 students through the implementation of more than sixty youth and community media literacy programs.

The evening will feature comedy by Lizz Winstead (writer/co-creator, The Daily Show and Air America Radio; author, Lizz Free or Die) and the first-ever Amplifier Awards presented to media education pioneers and 2012 honorees, Jean Kilbourne (filmmaker, Killing Us Softly) and Mark Crispin Miller (professor at NYU; media critic; author of numerous books).
