The check cashing storefront at 57 Front Street is closed. We asked around but no one knew what will be taking its place. The 7 Star Deli owner didn’t know either. Rumor has it that there will be a food related retail space coming in, but that’s only one resident’s speculation. Any residents or the property owner at 57 Front know what will be going in?

sad day. another example of all that’s decent in this neighborhood being taken away. we used to lay out there on cloudy spring days by the hydrant. we would go into Check Cashing on the 1st and 15th each month, a honored tradition. we did not walk out with much but it still bought us so much joy just to watch other people exchange 1 piece of paper for many smaller pieces of more valuable paper then celebrate in the park.
This has probably been engineered by that nefarious and narcissistic Jane Walentas. Apparently ruining our gritty neighborhood with that carousel wasn’t enough.
Well said, Jed Walentas.
