wow that’s a lot of snow
wow that’s a lot of snow
Are they making any progress? It seems that they are tearing up the road in the same spot over and over. Just when you think they’re done they return with the same noisy trucks. They’ve returned to the corner of Washington and Front at least 3 or 4 times. Clearly they are way past the 2/11/11 date mentioned in this notice. Anyone have any updates?
i remember reading something about the original tear up…they had to remove contaminated dirt…refill with good ole clean dirt…then i guess they came back now to do the pipes.
Thanks for the info. That explains the multiple visits to the same spots. I’ve also heard that they’ve already placed the pipes, but are now connecting the work done on Washington between York and Front with the work between Front and Water, but that may be speculation.

Most of Washington between Front and Water was closed up (other than the hole in the middle of the intersection, which is since maybe Friday the 18th). Water is also mostly done. There’s ongoing work at Washington & Plymouth. And Adams is a mess but I’m not sure how much of that is the street work vs. overflow from 25 Washington construction.
That said: I assume they will come back in the spring and regrade the streets to lay down the Belgian blocks. That will require closing the streets again for several weeks based on the work done on Water.
Thanks. I’ve also heard that they’re going to sandblast Washington and then put down the Belgian blocks in the spring. Just not sure why they continually blow-out the intersection of Front and Washington though.
