Congrats to Dumbo’s Dewey’s Candy, who was featured in a NY Times article on candy. This weekend for Halloween, there are plenty to do for you, kids, and pets. If you are a parent, be sure to check out parent blogs for other Halloween ides: A Child Grows in Brooklyn, Mommy Poppins, and Momtrends.
Here are a few happening this weekend in and around Dumbo:
1) Kids’ Halloweeen reading and signing for Zen Ghosts By Jon J Muth
Kids’ Reading and Signing. Zen Ghosts is a delightfully spooky and thought-provoking companion to Jon J Muth’s best-selling picture books Zen Shorts (a Caldecott Honor Book) and Zen Ties. Guaranteed to keep readers on the edge of their seats, Zen Ghosts is a haunting story with a surprise, spine-tingling twist at the end. Kids are encouraged to dress up in their Halloween costumes!

Those are cool events right there. I wish I lived in Brooklyn. I want to taste those candies from Dewey’s, too. During Halloween, I would usually make my own candy for the kids to have whenever they knock on my door and shout “TRICK OR TREAT” in chorus. I just hope that they’re always ready to visit their respective dentists. Such is the typical Halloween celebration in Lakeland, FL. When we decide to go to New York, I guess we’ll pass by Dewey’s!
