  • One of the many views to disappear forever.

  • Yep, this view will be completely erased once Dock St. goes up. Two Trees vigorously asserted that their “contextual” building wouldn’t block any public views, and that the only views lost would be those of private condo owners, but this photo depicts one of the numerous public vantage points that will be lost forever.

Instead of looking out and seeing the East River, Manhattan Bridge, Empire State Building, and Midtown Manhattan, you’ll be looking into a glass wall of living rooms less than 100 feet away. This will be the case for the entire view on the footpath of the bridge as soon as you reach the top of the stone steps from the Brooklyn entrance all the way along the walk path until you reach the tower on the Brooklyn side. In other words, this building will completely seal off the public views looking north from the bridge on the Brooklyn side. Sigh, how sad.

  • Looks like there was a pedestrian hit by a car on washington street under the overpass. Not sure what happened and the condition of the individual.

    • @johnson He broke his knee and fractured his elbow and in a wheelchair. Police was on the scene and we hope they managed to talk to a few witnesses. Be careful people!
