100 Gold Street On the Market

The condo units at 100 Gold Street has just hit the market. We previously posted about the development progress in January. This 5 story, 10 unit condominium is the first ‘green’ building in Vinegar Hill. They have a new website at onehundredgold.com, being marketed by Corcoran. There are two units per floor, one in the front and one rear facing with a terrace. Prices for 1 bedroom, 1 bath, 700 sqft units are priced from $525-550k and there are two penthouse units 1067 and 1085 sqft for $925k and $935k. Do you think these prices (at $675 – $867 per sq ft) are reasonable?

  • too close to Faragut for those prices.
It probably end up rental like 99 Gold, so anyone living there can escape when the shit goes down.

  • I don’t think Faragut matters, and the prices look a lot better than 99 Gold were…

  • You better believe it matters. If you’re going to drop $550K- $1M you’d probably prefer your neighbors not sell crack directly in front of your building. Maybe I’m just old-fashioned that way….

These are overpriced and they know it. My guess is they’ll bring them down a bit to avoid a repeat of the 99 Gold disaster.

  • Poor timing for an area that is less desirable than it’s neighbor. Slumbo needs to clean up its act if it’s going to command those prices.

  • Slumbo is just fine the way it is. DUMBO residents can stay on their side of Bridge Street. We don’t need their kind over here. 🙂

  • You could buy at 1 main – best building in DUMBO – in the $800s AT PEAK. And stuff is down all over the place now.

Now way they’re getting anywhere near that across the street from the projects.

Hell, 99 gold couldn’t sell at peak for a good reason. This isn’t dumbo, this is the buffer between dumbo and the projects.

Owners will get mugged so the criminals don’t have to go all the way to DUMBO.

  • Yes please, stay away from this side of Bridge St. We don’t need neighbors who are blatant racists and pretend to be tolerant.

  • Funny as the crime statistics from the 84th Precinct show that crime in DUMBO is actually higher than in VH.

But then again, many in DUMBO don’t know how to deal with panhandlers and give in to them rather than ignore them. (here is a secret people: If you ignore them enough times, they only focus on the ones who give in) THIS IS WHY THEY STAY IN DUMBO. The areas you people seem to be attacking really aren’t a pay day for the vermin. DUMBO is.

  • As a resident of vinegar hill I welcome what looks to be a great building with reasonable prices. The area is excellent and the vibe is cool. Does anyone remember what Dumbo was like several years ago? Also – Affordable housing is everywhere and the residents in the “projects” for the most part are decent working people. Seems we have a lot of bloggers logging in from their parents basement somewhere in the woods. Take a walk around Vinegar Hill and you will want to move into this building or some other one in the area…. R-bklyn

  • rbklyn,

Don’t mind the bloggers, they are just jealous.

Long time Brooklyn residents know DUMBO as the place that bodies got dumped.

So when the going gets tough, the weak get going? Is that what you are saying?

  • Long time Brooklyn residents remember the lack of development and attrition to the burbs as a problem.

Dumbo/VH is lucky to have developers investing in this site now. If anything, this momentum suggests lasting value for the area as a whole.
