Election Day!

Although the voting location at PS8 was a hundred long at 6am this morning, stretching around the block to Henry Street, voting was quick and smooth. I got to the location at 5:40 and was able to finish by 6:40. How was your voting experience? Did you have to wait long?

Reminder that polls close at 9pm and check your specific address by going to the online poll site address locator or call 1.866.VOTE.NYC. Tonight, starting at 6pm, head over to Galapagos Art Space for the election night party. Free cosmos for everyone if Obama wins. Newspapers report that as long as there’s no recount (like Florida in 2000), we should know the winner of the Presidential election at around 9pm or shortly after that.

  • The lines aren’t that bad now, but I heard reports that if you’re in district 124, the lines are much longer than the others. I’m sure there will be a rush to vote after work, so be prepared to wait then.

  • I voted this morning at 7 a.m. at the York Street school. No line, was very quick. But I did notice that the DUMBO peeps were waiting a bit longer then us for their machine.

  • I voted at 209 York around 8am and though I waited in the longer line for us Dumboites (Dumboans?) the wait wasn’t longer than a half-hour. Very friendly poll volunteers too, though it was early in the day. Dunno what they’ll be like in a couple hours…
