Director Tony Scott is filming the remake of The Taking of Pelham 123, a 1978 film, in Dumbo on Tuesday, May 6, 2008. The movie stars Denzel Washington and John Travolta and is set for release on 31July2009. They’ve posted letters in the area, which include the street locations and no-parking notices (red line above indicate no parking). Letter from Locations Dept after the jump.
Columbia Pictures will be filming scenes in this area for the upcoming feature film entitled The Taking of Pelham 1:23. We will be working in this area on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 between the approximate hours of 11am-9pm.
In order to facilitate filming, we will need to hold parking for filming and for equipment trucks beginning Monday, May 5, 2008. The streets affected will include:
- John Street, btw. Jay St & Adams St, both sides
- Adams Street, btw. John St & Plymouth St, both sides
- Plymouth Street, btw. Adams St & Bridge St, both sides
- Jay Street, btw. John St & York St, both sides
- Front Street, btw. Jay St & Bridge St, both sides
- Washington St. btw. Plymouth St & York St, both sides
Please note that cars left on these streets after 6am Tuesday, May 6, 2008 may be relocated to a block nearby the NYPD Tow Unit.
