My neighbor told me that foragers is using a biodegradable plastic-like bag, which is great. I have to say that the plastic or plastic-like bags really come in handy on rainy days, as New Yorkers tend to walk some distance from store to apartment, drenching and weakening paper bags in the process. I have had heavily weighted paper bags disintegrate mid-walk in a downpour – its no fun to chase your newly purchased edibles around the sidewalk and street. I am all for the environment that is why I recycle the plastsic bags I get from the stores. No need to not use them.
