De Blasio Calls On DOB To Stop Work On All Scarano Projects

Got this in our in-box last night from Councilmember Bill de Blasio who is calling on the NYC Dept of Buildings to stop work on all Robert Scarano projects while he is under investigation for professional misconduct. In the release, Blasio says that “Scarano, an architect with a long history of violating zoning codes, building codes, and practicing unsafe construction, is currently under investigation by the State Education Department.” The Dumbo Brooklyn based architect firm, Scarano Architects, have done many projects in Brooklyn, including 133 Water Street in Dumbo. The Councilmember is holding a meeting today at 11am:
