    The Nova Clutch building is coming down awfully fast. Does Two Trees only have a permit to tear it down or are they able to build something on that property as soon as it comes down? If they already tried to build a tower there in 2004 and it was opposed and rejected, I don’t see how they can even think it will pass 3 years later in 2007 with so many more residents in Dumbo and a full community (and blogs like this!) ready to fight this.

    My guess is that the site will be leveled pending St Ann’s. I think the plan is to go through the back of Nova and connect to the space of Ann’s site and the parking garage structure.
    The combined parcel will be quite large occupying Front, Dock, Water Streets. Lower parts of the stucture(s) would be at Dock St and the parts of the Garage and St Ann’s that are closest to the bridge. Taller components of the structure(s) would be further away. Either way, I’m afraid this is all coming very soon.

    How tall are we talking here? Has Two Trees disclosed any information or commented on their plans? Is there a maximum height (stories) they can legally build? A representative of Two Trees should step forward and be honest and open about their intentions and plans for the neighborhood we live, work, and play in. (And on a side-note, are they ever going to take down the Dumbo billboards and stop advertising for their neighborhood? That is viewed as a desperate act, and not appealing in the least.)

    We are talking upwards of 15-20 stories here at the area furthest from bridge (based on previous designs that did not get approved in 2004 but are in the process of being resubmitted for approval). My guess is that the building housing the carousel will re razed as well. The area of Nova, the carousel building and most of St. Ann’s lot would be tallest. Lesser height components would be closest to bridge, good for parking, storage, mechanicals, gym, rec center, retail.(This is the area of the current parking garage structure at corner of Front & Dock).
