NYC and the New England coast is bracing for what will bring a “life-threatening storm surge”. Residents and businesses in Zone A (generally Water Street and Plymouth Street in Dumbo) are in the mandatory evacuation zone. A NY Times article interviewed some Dumbo residents who have stayed behind. High tide has come, and parts of Adams Street near the Brooklyn Bridge Park is underwater already:

As of 10:00am Monday, La Bagel Delight, Dumbo Kitchen, Blanc & Rouge, Bridge Fresh, and Peas & Pickles are open.

Oak Studios, a Dumbo-based digital agency at 10 Jay Street set up a live webcam feed (video above).

Please take proper precautions as Hurricane Sandy makes its way to New York on Monday afternoon/evening, especially in the low lying area of Dumbo and Brooklyn. If there are other updates, comment below or follow us on Twitter @DumboNYC for the latest on Dumbo-related updates.
