Singularity & Co opened on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 18 Bridge Street in Dumbo. They are a sci-fi bookstore that not only collects and sells out of print, out of circulation, and rare sci-fi books, but also works to “digitally rescue” them by tracking down the copyright holder and/or author (if they’re still around), acquire or otherwise clear the copyright, and publish the title both online and as an e-book, for little or no cost. The Verge has a nice summary of the store and opening.

i think NOS is relocating to where the construction is going on. The copyrite fiasco is a complete shame, however.

The whole Chipotle thing is just a cruel joke to get our hopes high for some decent food. I don’t care if its a chain, I love Chipotle… please come to Dumbo.

Copyrite should at least go inside where the other shops are next door. Do they really need a storefront as nice as that? It looks like a staples shoved into the ritz.
