25 Washington Rentals to Open in March 2011

Accoding to The Real Deal, the 25 Washington Street rental conversion we posted about last week will be ready for occupancy in March 2011. There will be 106 “luxury rental apartments” will have exposed, wood-beamed ceilings and “higher-end finishes than we’ve typically done,” Asher Abehsera, residential vice president at Two Trees says.
Prices at 25 Washington Street will range from around $2,000 for studios to $4,800 for two-bedrooms. Two Trees expects to start leasing the units in March 2011 and deliver them the following month, Abehsera said. As previously mentioned, the 8 story building has a two story addition being constructed (at 16,256 ft) and the roof will have cabana spaces, similar to the ones at 70 Washington Street.

As a resident of one of the buildings next to 25 the addition of the two extra floors is going to considerably block my view/light. Does anyone know if i have any rights or do i just have to sit back and get screwed by Two Trees?
Help please.

Do you or your building have an easement preventing the addition of the extra floors?
I didn't follow the 25 Washington plans, but since it's in the landmark district you could check to see if LPC signed off on the additional floors.

Hi, Thanks for the LPC suggestion, i emailed them and received a response saying that they approved two additional floors back in February. I am now a little confused as to the exact roll of the Landmark protection agency as allowing the addition of two metal structure floors on top of a historic red brick warehouse building does not seem like protection of a landmark but i guess profit potential always wins in the end.
Two Trees pretty much owns Dumbo so i guess they can rule like a monarchy over the rest of us.

The LPC is pretty toothless. Mostly concerned with the street façade and occasionally with what can be seen from the street.
