1st Thursdays DUMBO Gallery Walk (06May2010)
May 3rd, 2010

A festive occasion each month for art lovers. A chance to visit many quality galleries at night in the Dumbo Historic District – galleries showing works from artists of many disciplines, especially photography, while hosting receptions, producing live music performances and curator/artist talks among other highlights.
Let’s not forget the incredible views you can enjoy as you walk from one gallery to the next and the local drink specials afterward. Most of the art is for sale. Printed maps and 1st Thursday cards are available on-site.
Participating galleries may vary each month. For more information contact Zannah Mass at zannah@twotrees-dumbo.com or 718-222-2500 x38.
This month’s highlights include: Helen Sear’s stunning exhibit Beyond the View at KLOMPCHING Gallery, Christopher Griffith’s exhibition States at Randall Scott Gallery in which the artist radically reinterprets American iconography, the popular Cinema 16 series hosted by Smack Mellon with MotMot scoring Lotte Reiniger’s film “The Adventures of Prince Achmed,” the moving and informative photographic exhibit BLANCO: Visions of Blindness by Stephano De Luigi at VII Photo exploring blindness in 14 countries; SVA’s Photo Global, an exhibit of SVA’s international residency program, and various other talks, screenings, performances, and exhibition openings.

Anyone know what this filming of “Durago 95″ is? Or is it a misspelling of Durango 95?
[UPDATE: Other signs say "Durango 95". Also, thanks to Mediagoon, it's a commercial: "durago 45 looks like a commercial to me...on the permit the C before the number means commercial. TV is tv, MV music vid. FF-film"]
