O’Crepes Open in Dumbo
April 1st, 2010

From the Dumbo Improvement District:
O’Crepes (O for Organic) has just opened this week on Front Street between Pearl & Jay. The organic crepe shop is open daily from 10am. You can order one of the specialty combos with names like Architectural Digest (original crepe filled with chicken, mushrooms, ratatouille, onions, & swiss cheese) or Morning O’Crepe, or create your own from their sweet & savory, crepe & filling options.
O’Crepes is located at the retail/street level (next to PS Bookshop) and is part of the SHOP @ Green Desk space.

$9.00 for a crepe seems pretty steep. good luck…

If you're following them on Twitter you must . . . really like crepes.
You must have an insatiable curiosity about the aesthetics and science of crepe making. “How DID you make that crepe?”

9 bucks! I think I'll fly to paris and get one first.

$17 for 2 makes it 8. Check them out. I am not getting…Is Foragers less expansive? I paid $16.95 for two tiny soups and some beans. Also, I saw Albert's Organics deliver to Ocrepes yesterday. If you prefer chicken ingested in hormones, go to 99c and support american madness with mass production. Food Inc movie is excellent dose of reality.

I totally agree… $9 (w/tax) is waaaayyy too much for a crepe. Especially if I just want a crepe with strawberries and nutella, why on earth should that cost $9??? Organic or not, it's highway robbery. I think a price scale is more appropriate when you are building your own crepe, perhaps starting at $4 or $5 and incrementing the price for each additional topping. A fixed price for all crepes makes absolutely no sense. If I could get basic crepe for under $6 or $7, they would certainly see me several times a week. In any case, good luck to them. I do wish them the best because it's a great concept and could be a wonderful additon to neighborhood IF they get their prices together.

Do any of you complaining about prices actually run a business in New York? Do you have even the remotest clue about how much it costs just to open the door without having any inventory or hiring any staff?
You keep voting for the same politicians over and over again, who raise taxes, who decide “business needs to pay for X” and then whine about a $9 crepe?
You want your stores to be clean and friendly, you support a “living wage” for the staff, where the hell do you think the money to pay for all of this comes from if not from $9 for a crepe?

agree, Foragers for lunch? ha,u'll pay more than 10 bucks for sure just to get small soup and salad. Btw, I got simple crepe with nutella and it was just 6$ , if you noticed 9.50 included tax and drink (organic tea or coffee) and unlimited fillings…..

The cost of the crepe was offset for me by their new offer of free (organic) coffee or tea, easily a $2 cup anywhere. The crepes contained ample, quality fillings that also made it seem like a reasonable value (per NYC at least). Having worked in DUMBO for 3 years (600 lunches bought), this is a welcome under-$10 addition.

They have to charge $9 for a crepe. How else will the small business finance Obamacare? Thank all you liberal idiots who voted for Obama.

[...] O’Crepes in Dumbo has been shut down by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. According to a @ocrepes Twitter status last week, “because of Landlord refusing to provide a restroom on the site Health Department closed us yesterday. What’s left for small business-hope!” OK, let’s hope they can reopen soon.
