Our sources say that Choice Market (at Jay and York Streets) will open in February. Their awning went up yesterday, which is a sign that it may actually open soon.

    Wow Beautiful Place..... Food is fantastic!!! Just noticed they are now OPEN for DINNER!!! Beer and Wine served too!!!

    they are opening on Wed, Feb 17th.

    UPDATE: Now they say Thurs.

    just gave them a call -- they said no guarantees but they plan to open Feb 14. I can't wait, I've been to the one in Fort Greene and it will be a very welcome addition to the DUMBO neighborhood.

    Maybe someone should open a decent restaurant in DUMBO and not another fancy overpriced food market.

    I agree, as it pains me to get ripped off by Peas and Pickles and Foragers but I have heard it is difficult to open a restaurant due to red tape around "historical" buildings blahblah. Anyone have any detail on this??

    Yes, ventilation is the issue for restaurants. It was discussed here:
