No, there is no ice rink in the park. They say they will water down the plaza under the bridge (maybe) on cold days, if they can find money. THERE IS NO ICE RINK> period. So much for the lies the ESDC tells about this travesty of a park.

The ice skating rink under the Brooklyn Bridge is on hold because the bridge will be undergoing a repainting project that will take 4 years. The DOT has claimed a portion of that spot for storage of materials.

I emailed the park and the response was there are no plans for a skating rink right now. They like the idea and will not rule it out for the future. But for now… nada.

They were going to put in a temporary ice rink for this winter, but were afraid that because of the fluctuating temperatures it would be mostly closed and would turn off interested skaters. They decided to wit till next year when the permanent rink will be open and they can guarantee a happy experience consistently.
