Pete’s Downtown is disgusting – first of all Pete is a very nasty man who is cruel to his staff – in front of customers and in private, the food is no good and the atmosphere/decor is very wierd. The best parts are the view which is picturesque and the service. Those poor people who work there are constantly berated by the owner and eastern bloc manager so you can be sure the service you’re getting is similar to that of a 5 star restaurant – or else!

only tourists go to Pete’s – locals would never go there

Sucks that we’re losing Hecho en Dumbo. One of the few decent restaurants in the nabe. Love those pork tacos.

I agree, Pete’s is purely a tourist stop, food is bad, bad, bad..

Since there are “so few decent restaurants in the nabe” – what kind of restaurants/food is needed/wanted here in Dumbo? Anybody have any ideas?

Who can guess what paint colors were on sale the day they painted 50 Bridge?

Hi!
Thanks a lot for choosing my photo for this post. And thanks for adding my name and the link to my photo stream.
Great blog! I visited DUMBO for the first time with this trip to NY and I loved it!
I also used to write a similar blog about the trendiest neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, Trendy Palermo Viejo.
Regards from Argentina!
