I didn't see any signs posted on New Dock yesterday (Tuesday 12/2) but will check again today. Water between Main and Dock St seems to be blocked off with traffic cones.

Over the summer I tried to get a source of filming locations from the NYC film office, but they won't release film permit locations to the general public, apparently so that stalker/ gawkers/ papparazzi don't show up. Not sure how effective that is with all of us posting the locations on various blogs.

New Dock street is indeed posted for filming with towing starting at 8:00 p.m. (possibly tonight! I saw conflicting notices, for two film crews)

i did’t think you could be ticketed for parking in filming areas. towed and relocated, yes, but not ticketed. this is what the nyc filming site says. i’ve been relocated before (in manhattan) but not ticketed:

I’ve also requested filming locations from the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting, but they won’t release them. I try to post the filming notices, but only if I see the signs around the neighborhood of if someone emails me a notice. Our friends over at http://www.filminginbrooklyn.com also lists filming, but they also don’t get all the notices.

I’ve been playing with the idea of using Google Maps to track parking regulations and filming in the neighborhood, but haven’t gotten very far. Maybe some local web dev would like to pick it up and run with it?

Thanks for the update. Much appreciated as I was ‘relocated’, ticketed and towed about a month ago due to filming. Still waiting for my ‘case’ to be heard. I suspect that permits are not shared with the general public so that the city can generate much needed ‘revenue’.

Do you know if there is no parking on New Dock Street? I parked there the other night but didn’t see any signs posted. And, is there any other way to know when filming, and subsequently no parking will occur other than checking dumbonyc.com?
