Photo Safari and Street Art in Dumbo
October 24th, 2008

[UPDATE: Due to inclement weather, the Photo Safari has been moved to Sunday.]
Photojojo is hosting an event in Dumbo this weekend open to anyone with a camera of any kind.
It’s a tour of Dumbo street art, led by Jake Dobkin of Gothamist and Streetsy, and organized by Steph Goralnick. They’re going to explore a bunch of the beautiful graffiti, maybe a rooftop, then end up at a Dumbo bar where you can check out some of the pics people gathered and offer some prizes.
There will be six of these events in NYC and SF, and this Sunday Saturday in Dumbo is the first. For all the events, go to photojojo.com/safaris.
We’ve posted some street art in the past, but with all street art, they fade, removed, defaced, or disappear. In yesterday’s Brooklyn Based article, they asked Jake Dobkin to name his top street art spots in Brooklyn. He named Dumbo as one of the top spots. While Dumbo has a lot of street art, the quiet streets toward Vinegar Hill has some of the more interesting work by a few artists named in the Streetsy article of the “40+ Streetartists You Should Know Besides Banksy”.
