According to the December 2007 issue of The Real Deal, Dumbo Veterinarian Group signed a lease for ground floor and basement space with a reported asking rent of $50 per square foot at 57 Front Street, a Boymelgreen building (also the developer of Beacon Tower at 85 Adams Street). The ground floor and basement is approximately 3000 square feet. The veterinarian will be a few doors down from the Starbucks, which is at 67 Front Street.
The veterinary should complement the two Dumbo dog/pet day care centers, Cheeky Dog and Dumbo Pet Care for Dumbo pet owners. No word yet on anticipated opening date.

serious? a pig? is it big?

Cool. Pigs are smart. Smarter than dogs. Probably makes an excellent house pet.

I’m proud to say the pig belongs to my wife and I. She is pretty small right now, only about 10-15 pounds, but will get the size of a bulldog which still isn’t that big compared to most dogs. So far she has been a fantastic pet and her intelligence is very apparent.

I saw a video from YouTube embedded on a Gowanus Lounge page of a pig that looked like it was shot in Dumbo (atleast that’s where the last shot seemed to be). TWC, was that your swine?

they’re shooting pigs in Dumbo? Its about time.

That was my pig. Low budget project just for fun as I thought that random Beastie Boys song was a perfect connection between our pig and Brooklyn.

What kind of pig is it?
February 14th, 2008 at 11:48 am
She is a potbelly, bred in Oregon by a farm called Royal Dandie that has been breeding pet pigs for about 20 years.

Found the video on YouTube. What a cutie! Hope to run into you on the street sometime. Can’t wait to see how my dog reacts to a pig!

the pig is really cute .. is ownership a health code violation… we have a rabbit and at one time there was a question about rabbits i couldnt see taking away a beloved family pet so i ask in caution of the promotional video . maybe a little hush is in order

We took our dog Leo to the new vet at 57 Front when he was having some eye problems yesterday and had an excellent experience. Just wanted to share for all the other pet owners out there, be they parents to dogs, cats, or adorable swine. The vet Dr. Neuman was really great—and comes from a practice on the LES where she did a lot of emergency medicine. Highly recommend.

Dear TWC,
Where do you take your pig for vet care in NYC, I have a 3 month old potbellied piglet that I want to take to get rabbies vaccinations, etc, but none of the vets in Manhattan that I called treat “exotic” pets such as he.

icp, i take our pigs to Dr. Neuman on Front Stree. She is great and always takes good care of our pigs, in fact she spayed Cholula for us. If your pig isnt fixed you should do so.
mod squad, you have issues, my pigs are wittier than you are.

Dear TWC -
So happy to see you on this blog! We live in Cobble Hill and have been looking into getting a Royal Dandie for about 3 years. I saw the pic of your pig on their website about 6 months ago and contacted them to get your e-mail address but never heard back. How big is little Cholula now? Has she grown much past the 15 pounds? Would love to hear anything and everything you to say about the Royal Dandie breed. We are looking at getting a Royal Dandie Extreme.

Hello there,
I am searching for a pot-bellied pig for an upcoming webisode – nothing pig, just a shot of one of our hosts playing with it. I would love to discuss options if at all possible. My email is mariapwna@gmail.com
thanks,
