For the Kids: 2007 Halloween Events in Dumbo

I’ve been criss-crossing across the country for work after having just had our first baby a few weeks ago, so things have been a bit crazy. (Thank you for your emails everyone. I’m not ignoring them…just haven’t gotten to them.) But during my downtime at the airport, I fire up my RSS reader and catch up on other Brooklyn bloggers. (Click for DumboNYC’s RSS and Comment RSS links to keep up with Dumbo conversations).
One category that’s growing is the parent’s blog. It’s no surprise that there are plenty of Brooklyn and Dumbo based bloggers out there. The best parent blogs I keep up with are achildgrowsinbrooklyn.com, mommypoppins.com, and momtrends.blogspot.com. There must be more, but those are the ones I read up on. (If you’re interested, there’s also the Yahoo Dumbo Parents Group.)
With Halloween coming up in a week, achildgrowsinbrooklyn.com and mommypoppins.com compiled a list of Halloween events in Brooklyn and NYC. From Mommy Poppins, the list includes the Dumbo Halloween Parade:
DUMBO Halloween Parade
Anything that ends with a party at Bubbys can’t be bad. Meet at Bubby’s, corner of Main and Plymouth Sts, 4pm. This one is all about the kids, followed by a party atBubby’sToro Restaurant around 4:30pm.
When:Wednesday, October 31Sunday, Oct 28
[Ed: Apparently, the Halloween parade is on Sunday and the party is at Toro at 1 Front Street]
The huge Brooklyn events list at achildgrowsinbrooklyn.com includes a few Dumbo events:
DUMBO- TREATS TRUCK HALLOWEEN PARTY

The Treats Truck team is excited to host their first-ever Halloween party in DUMBO. “We will park the truck, sell treats, give some special little treats away, have a costume contest, and entertainment!,” said Kim Ima, The Treats Truck’s owner/baker/driver/eater. A special Halloween box of treats will also be available for sale. Kids of all ages are invited! THE TREATS TRUCK is a mobile bakery that has been serving fresh, wholesome treats to hungry and happy New Yorkers since opening this summer. The Treats Truck, which is named Sugar, parks in various locations throughout NYC and the surrounding boroughs. The Treats Truck’s spot of the day can be found by visiting www.treatstruck.com or by calling (212) 691-5226.DUMBO: DUMBO’S FOURTH ANNUAL HALLOWEEN PARADE
