St. Ann’s Warehouse has unveiled their new Fall/Winter 2007 season lineup and a newly re-designed website late last week. From St. Ann’s:
It’s a season of international Premiers that have taken Europe by storm, including the National Theatre of Scotland’s Black Watch, a spectacular production about young Scottish soldiers in Iraq; and Dutch director Adelheid Roosen’s The Veiled Monologues and Is.Man, two compassionate plays (with music and film) about Muslim women living in the West and Muslim men who have been convicted of honor killings. These are artists who make work for tough times, and whose politics lie in their passion, not polemics.
The fall line up:
- PASO DOBLE: Sept 14-16, A Collaboration by Miquel Barceló and Josef Nadj
- THE VEILED MONOLOGUES | IS.MAN: Oct 5-14, 2 New Plays written and directed by Adelheid Roosen English Language and American Premieres
- BLACK WATCH: Oct 20 – Nov 11, Written by Gregory Burke | Directed by John Tiffany
- THE TIGER LILLIES: Dec 13-15, “A journey into wild emotion that passes right through melodrama and out the other side into bizarre beauty” (Evening Standard)
- MACBETH: Dates TBA, In June 2008, St. Ann’s will create an outdoor theater in the pre-Civil War Tobacco Warehouse, located across the street from St. Ann’s.
