After we posted the story about the demolition of 205 Water Street, David Yassky received overwhelming response to stop the demolition of the building. (Thanks to all who called or wrote in!) According to the NYC Department of Buildings, they have issued a 10 day letter of intent to revoke their application. This is a STOP work order due to the violations reported by the nearby residents and people who called into Yassky’s office. The architect has 10 days to respond before the city can revoke their permit to demolish the building.

Its a mess. Check out the Dept. of Bdlgs website on it. The thing just keeps growing. Its susposed to be a condo…..one day. Guttman is doing the work on it.

  3. Brooklyn Enthusiast Says:

Does the building have a name/web site or is it just going by the address at this point?

Check out the Dept. of Bdlgs system, the bdlg is listed under 53 Bridge Street. They have taken in allot of violations and already have two stop work orders.
The same guys had built the condos at 50 Bridge Street. And the condo owners over there have been engaged in a lawsuit against the devloper due to bad work, leaks, etc.
