Bridgeview Tower Price Increases
January 16th, 2007

Blogger ltjbukem has an eye opening post (as they often do) on price increases at Bridgeview Tower of approx 20%. Excuse my skepticism, but what the heck kind of strategy is that at a time of real estate price ‘correction’? The building is new construction, but how will the developer (or is it the broker) sell at these prices when there are many other new construction buildings in better areas? They’ll need to do more than to categorize this building as part of Brooklyn Heights or hang a banner on the building that says “If you lived here, you’d be home by now”.

Dear Dumbo parents& neighbors:
As a concerned and involved parent faced with the difficulty of
finding good options for our little ones, I’m working on a plan to bring a
Montessori program to Dumbo for children ages 3-5. We aim to bring in
teachers and classes familiar to children in the area, offering a
well rounded program for the pre-schoolers. The conveniently located
Dumbo space on which I have begun exploratory discussions with the landlord
is open, bright and safe, with an indoor play area
that can be also be accessed in the afternoon and weekends for
additional fun and educational opportunities,
such as music and art classes. We aim to be open for a summer ‘camp’
program and a fulltime school program in the fall.
Our intention is to provide two full-time (9am-3pm) and two part time
classes (3 days per week for about 2.5 hours). Please let me know if you
have any preliminary interest in either a full-time or part time program
(please specify) so I can determine whether or not to move forward with
a school that solves our neighborhood needs of bridging the gap between a
‘Two’s’ program and
Kindergarten.
Stay tuned for further updates. Please forward this on to anyone you think
maybe interested
Thanks!

Dear Ilene: I am hugely interested especially when it is a montessori based program but as I understand it clearly, it is from 3’s and up and not 2’s. Let me know. Thank you for spearheading this. Best, Carijn
